Petra Salazar Receives Artist Support Grant

Petra Salazar has been awarded a 2025 Artist Support Grant, a regional program designed to support individual artists in the Piedmont Triad with professional and artistic development. The grant, administered by the Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County in partnership with the North Carolina Arts Council, helps artists deepen their craft, expand their creative reach, and sustain their practice.

Salazar, a poet, educator, and cultural worker originally from Northern New Mexico, will use the grant to further develop elementary, a new poetry collection exploring queer aftermath and ecological grief, and Coyote Pedagogy, a land-based educational project grounded in mutuality and transformation.
